I got to photograph the cute Miss Jingle this past week.  Yes, her name is Jingle, just like her personality all bright and fun.  Mary Joy, Jingle and I got to run around down town Fullerton in the hot summer heat.  But it was really fun to do some head shots, something a little different.

She was such a sport to get all wet for this photo.  But hey, it was a hot day, so I think she liked being cooled down by the water. 

Man, it’s getting so hot!  It’s only the beginning of summer…I haven’t done much research about global warming myself, but it sure seems like it’s true.  It’s just getting hotter and hotter each year.  It’s ridiculous! 

What does this entry have anything to do with weddings???  Brides, this entry is for you!  Okay, maybe it’s really only for the So. Cal. brides.  I know everyone thinks that summer is the best time to get married.  But honestly, IMHO, I think it’s the worst time to get married!  Especially if you have an outdoor wedding with no shades!  With the increasing heat each year.  It is just getting way too hot to get married in the summer.  Everyone’s always sweating bullets during the ceremony.  The bride’s make up starts to melt, the groom’s dripping with sweats because he’s wearing layers of clothing.  I seriously don’t know how the guys do it.  It’s not like they can wear a tube gown and be cool.  Even with a tube gown, it can get super hot for the brides because of the petty coat and all the other layers underneath. 

A quick story:  One of my brides got so hot with all the layers of petty coat underneath her gown that she started doing the stripper dance to cool her legs off.  It was so hilarious!  I loved it cuz her lifting her dress up high, revealing all the layers underneath, and kicking her legs high in the air made great photo opps.  But man, poor her!

Yes, I know most people are concerned about the rain in the spring
season.  But see, the thing is that most place have a back up plan when
it rains.  So there’s really nothing to worry about.  Personally, I
rather deal with the rain and the back up plan, than to have my make up
melt during the ceremony.  Plus, if you have your wedding during the
spring or fall, it’s only possible rain, not guaranteed.  But if you
get married during summer, you’re guarantee to have that beating 90
degree heat! 

Okay, another tip for the brides.  A lot of times when you have a
wedding in the spring or fall season, you most likely will have a
little bit of overcast weather, which is great for photography.  The
entire sky acts as a huge soft box that gives diffused light, gently
falls on the bride’s beautiful face.  It’s just amazing!  I know summer
has wonderful bright sun, blue sky weather, but it also has harsh
lighting during summer, casting harsh shadows.  No matter how pretty
you are as a bride, you won’t look that pretty with those harsh shadows
on your face during the ceremony.   

Anyway, that’s just my two cents.  At the end of the day, would you
rather deal with the possible rain in the spring or the guaranteed
beating summer heat?

Deana was such a trooper for this shot, I didn’t know she gets motion sickness easily until after she got off the ride and went straight to the bathroom to puke.    Good thing she didn’t, but I felt bad making her go on tea cup twice.  Hopefully this picture made it all worth it for you guys.

Do you guys remember this sweet couple?  They flew me out to Virginia for their eSession.  They were so fun to work with and I absolutely enjoyed shooting their big day.

Mary, Melanie and Grace decided to take a food road trip to Carmel, Monterey area.  They somehow tricked me into going with them so I can take photos of them.  Here’s a few from the road trip.  I think I should collect some photography and modeling instruction fees.  What do you think???  LOL.

Okay, okay, I’m just kidding.  They did somehow convince me into going with them, teach them how to model, and take photos of them.  But in all seriousness, I had tons of fun doing so.  It was such a fun trip.  We did loads of silly stuff, just cuz we were all girls and girls like to have fun. 

I somehow ended up taking loads of photos of Mel.  She got that model pose down after one try!  According to Mary and Grace, they were just waiting for us to finish taking photos most of the time.  Hahaha…how sad…I’ll make it up to you gals! 

Mel and I also got to touch some seals by the beach. That was probably the most stupid thing we did because Mel actually woke one of the seals up and also bit her hand off! We later on learned that they actually really can bite someone’s hand off! Good thing nothing happened to us! Craziness.

Too bad I didn’t get any photos of us visiting Pastor Erin in his hometown Cayucos (sp?).  That was something else I tell you.  Now I know why he’s weird most of the time…. 

Anyway, I took most of the photos in the slide show. The ones with me in it…obviously either Mary, Mel or Grace took them. Enjoy.
